Volume of operations with credit cards decreases by 20%

The operations in the amount of AZN 1,426 mln. have been implemented with credit cards being in circulation during January-November 2019, “APA-Economics” reports citing Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

The volume of the operations has decreased by 20% as compared with the same period of 2018.

Note that the part of these operations in the amount of AZN 216 mln. has been implemented beyond the country. Thus, the 39% reduction has been recorded in the volume of the operations implemented with credit cards beyond the country as compared with relevant period of 2018.

According to the CBA’s report, the part of operations implemented with credit cards in the amount of AZN 147 mln. was carried out during November 2019.

Note that as of December 2019, the number of credit cards being in circulation reduced by 10% on a year-on-year basis and equaled to 751 thousand pieces as of December 1, 2019.
