 Pakistan increases export to Azerbaijan up to $500M

Baku. Yegane Lachinzade – APA-Economics. Pakistani Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Defence Production reached an agreement to develop an Action Plan to increase the export to Azerbaijan.

According to Pakistani media, after Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Azerbaijan last months, the working groups decided to increase the export to Azerbaijan from $60 million to $500 million.


At the meeting chaired by the Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir and the Minister of Defence Minister Rana Tanveer, it was decided to expand ranges of goods and services to be exported to Azerbaijan.

Along with this, the delegation led by Minister of Commerce is planned to visit Azerbaijan next month.

In 2015-2016, Pakistan mainly exported rice to Azerbaijan. Total worth of export from Pakistan to Azerbaijan amounted to $60 million, from Azerbaijan to Pakistan – to $0.031 million.
