Azerbaijan makes amendments to the article #64 of the Customs Code on personal inspections in customs authorities.

APA reports that the amendment is as follows: Personal inspection is carried out by officers of customs authorities in an isolated room which meets sanitary and hygienic requirements. In case the inspection is not recorded, at least two witnesses are required.

Current context says: Personal inspection is carried out by officers of customs authorities in an isolated room which meets sanitary and hygienic requirements. Two witnesses must participate in the inspection. No other individual is allowed to enter the room and record the inspection.

In connection with this, a new item is annexed to the article #99: During the personal inspection, as well as taking of goods and documents, two adults that are not interested in the result of the case must participate in the inspection as witness.

The draft amendment will be discussed at the parliamentary meeting on December 29.
