Azerbaijan-based banks see 2.4-fold decline in external borrowing

As of November 1, 2017, total foreign liabilities of Azerbaijan-based commercial banks stood at AZN 2,550,300,000, down AZN 3,678,700,000 or 2.44-fold from previous year.

 

Central Bank of Azerbaijan said the external borrowing decreased AZN 156,200,000 or 5.77% in October 2017.

 

Compared to December 2016, the external borrowing declined AZN 4,674,500,000 or 64.7% in October.

 

As of November 1, 2017, banks’ total foreign assets stood at AZN 5,565,900,000, up AZN 1,916,200,000 or 52.5% in comparison to a year earlier. Compared to previous month, total foreign assets grew AZN 297,700,000 or 5.65% in October.
