Last year, Azerbaijan invested 558 million dollars in Georgia’s economy, APA’s local bureau reported.
According to the updated data from Georgia’s National Statistics Office, this accounted for 35.6% of the total volume of foreign investments to Georgia. In 2016, the total amount of direct foreign investment in the Georgian economy was about 1.6 billion dollars.
The largest investment in Georgia after Azerbaijan was invested by Turkey ($ 203.5 million), the United Kingdom ($ 118.8 million), and the Netherlands ($ 97.2 million).
