Volume of currency transactions in USD decreased by 23.3%, in EUR 4.8% in January-June 2017, Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) told APA-Economics.
During the reporting period, 85.9% of transactions were carried out in USD, 14.1% in other currencies.
According to Monetary Policy Review, decline in currency market was also observed in cash foreign currency market: “Banks sold $91 million in the reporting period, while they purchased $151 million in six months of 2016. This is due to stability of exchange rate of manat”.
