Central Bank of Azerbaijan may change discount rate by the end of the year if the current conditions remain unchanged, CBA Chairman Elman Rustamov said at the press conference.
According to him, exchange rate expectations allow monetary condition o normalize gradually: ‘Normalization of monetary condition is measures by volume and value of money. We have increased the volume, money supply increased by 1% in the first quarter. We think this increase is optimal in banking sector if liquidity exists. The discount rate may be reduced in case the current condition exists’.
