In May 2018, deposits placed by the population in the banks amounted to AZN 7,867,500,000, of which AZN 2,919.2 million (37.1%) are in national currency, AZN 4,984,300,000 (62.9%) in foreign currency.
Compared to the previous year, the personal savings increased by AZN 1,174,400,000 or 67.3%. Savings in foreign currency declined AZN 153.7 million or 3.01%.
Along with this, manat deposits increased by AZN 31.4 million or 1.1%, the deposits in foreign currency declined by AZN 45.2 million or 0.9% in May.
