As of May 1, 2017, number of hired workers made 1,520,200, including 887,400 workers in state sector, 632,800 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 22.0% hired workers worked in education, 19.1% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 12.7% in industry, 8.6% in medical and social service for population, 6.7% in construction, 4.7% in transport and storehouse, 3.5% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.1% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.6% in finance and insurance and 10.9% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the hired workers rose 6.8% to AZN 520.5.
