As of December 1, 2016, number of hired workers made 1,514,400, including 889,500 workers in state sector, 624,900 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 22.2% hired workers worked in education, 19.2% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 13% in industry, 8.8% in medical and social service for population,6% in construction, 4.6% in transport and storehouse, 3.6% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.1% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.7% in finance and insurance and 10.7% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the hired workers rose 7% to AZN 494.3.
