As of March 1, 2017, number of hired workers made 1,515,700, including 886,800 workers in state sector, 628,900 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 22.1% hired workers worked in education, 19.3% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 13% in industry, 8.7% in medical and social service for population, 6.1% in construction, 4.7% in transport and storehouse, 3.5% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.1% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.6% in finance and insurance and 10.8% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the hired workers rose 5.9% to AZN 499.9.
