President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has issued an order on measures regarding improvement of management in protection of facilities on rights of standardization, metrology, intellectual property and control on consumption market.
According to the order, the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection was removed subordination of Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry.
A State Antimonopoly and Consumption Market Supervisory Agency, which is a central executive body, was established on the basis of the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
Powers of liquidated State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents in technical regulation, standardization, metrology, assessment of conformity, accreditation and quality management were transferred to the State Antimonopoly and Consumption Market Supervisory Agency.
