AZN 6 166.5mln.-credit invested in Azerbaijan’s economy in first half of this year

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. As of July 1, the amount of loans invested in the economy of Azerbaijan made up AZN 6 166.5mln., The National Bank of Azerbaijan told the APA-Economics.

This figure increased by 1.7% compared with June and 78.3% compared with July 1, 2007. Overdue loans totaled AZN 99.9mln. As of July 1, short-term loans accounted for AZN 1 848.5mln. (30%) of loans, long-term loans accounted for AZN 4,318mln. (70%) of loans. AZN 64.1mln. (3.5%) of the short-term loans and AZN 35.8mln. (0.8%) of the long-term loans are overdue loans.


State banks had a share of AZN 2 753.3mln. (44.6%) in the credit investments, private banks AZN 3,272mln. (53.1%) and nonbank credit organizations AZN 141.1mln. (2.3%). The banks with foreign participation invested AZN 1,850.2mln. in Azerbaijan’s economy. Their specific weight in the total crediting volume makes up 30%.
Banks with 100% foreign capital lent AZN 289.8mln. (4.7%).
3 278.7 million (53.2%) of the credits were invested in national currency and AZN 2 887.8 million (46.8%) in foreign currencies.
