Annual inflation in Türkiye increased again in August, APA-Economics reports citing Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat or TÜİK).
Consumer price index (CPI) realized as 58.94% annually and 9.09% monthly. A change in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 9.09%, on December of the previous year by 43.06%, on same month of the previous year by 58.94% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 56.28% in August 2023.
Housing with 24.97% was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase. On the other hand, hotels, cafes and restaurants with 89.31% was the main group where the highest annual increase realized.
In August 2023, education with 3.11% was the main group that indicated the lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, transportation with 16.61% was the main group where the highest monthly increase realized (indices, weights and rate of changes (%) by main expenditure groups are given in the Table-1).
