Azerbaijan's bank assets increased by almost 24% in 2022

As of January 1, 2023, assets of banks have made up AZN 47,054.9 mln which is 23,4% more than in annual comparison, APA-Economics reports citing Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

Net loans issued to clients made up AZN 19,594.4 mln of banks' assets. In the last 1 year, the loan portfolio of the sector grew by 17,5%, while the share of loans in assets decreased from 43,2% to 41,5%.

During the reporting period, the liabilities of the banking sector increased by 24% to AZN 41432,9 mln, including the deposit portfolio, which increased by 25,3% to AZN 33762,5 mln.

In the last year, the balance capital of the banking sector increased by 13,3 % and amounted to AZN 5622,0 mln.
