In the first quarter of this year, the volume of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover with Ukraine made up USD 402,491 mln., APA-Economics reports citing the report of the State Customs Committee.
The volume of Azerbaijan’s export to Ukraine was USD 317,273 mln. which is 2,6 times more in annual comparison. 96% of export was oil and oil products. During the reporting period, the import decreased by 14,7% in annual comparison to USD 85,219 mln. As a result, the positive trade balance increased by 10,2 times to USD 232,054 mln.
In March alone, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Ukraine was USD 71,268 mln which is 25,5% less in comparison to February. During the last month, the country’s export to Ukraine increased by 5% to stand at USD 60,166 mln. 98,6% of export fell on the share of oil and oil products in March. Import decreased by 3,5 times to stand at USD 11,102 mln. in comparison to February, in the light of Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine and war.
