Central Bank of Russia resumes possibility for banks to sell cash currency to citizens

The Central Bank of the Russian Federation from Monday resumes the opportunity for banks to sell cash currency, accounced on April 18 by the press service of the regulator, APA-Economics reports citing TASS.

Thus, financial organizations have the opportunity to sell cash to citizens until September 9, 2022. It is clarified that only the currency that has entered the cash desks of banks since April 9, 2022 is subject to sale.

In addition, the Central Bank allowed citizens to receive both dollars and euros in cash from April 11. This applies to those who opened foreign currency accounts or deposits before March 9, but have not yet decided on the established limit for receiving cash currency from their accounts.

At the same time, the total limit for withdrawing foreign currency from the accounts of citizens has been preserved: it is $10,000.
