EBRD forecasts current account surplus in Azerbaijan to make up 31,7% this year

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecasted that the share of surplus in current account balance (CAB) of Azerbaijan's balance of payments in GDP will make up 31,7% (15,2% in 2021), APA-Economics reports citing the “Transition Report 2022-23” report of the bank.

According to the forecasts of EBRD, this year, an increase in oil and gas prices impacted the sharp increase of CAB.

In addition, EBRD forecasted the weight of the state budget in the GDP of 17,1%. This figure was 4,1% in 2021, In accordance with the reports. share of direct foreign investments in the GDP is forecasted at 3,5% this year. This figure was 3,8% last year.
