Trade deficit between Georgia and Azerbaijan increases by 5.5 times

In January-May of this year, volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan has made up USD 539 989,4, which is USD 132 125 thousand or 32.4% more in annual comparison, according to the report of National Statistics Office of Georgia, APA's bureau in Georgia reports.

In the reporting period, Georgia imported goods and products from Azerbaijan worth USD 315 871,3 thousand, which is 48.8% more in annual comparison. Georgia's export to Azerbaijan made up USD 148 892,8 increasing by 89.4% in annual comparison.

As a result, in the first 5 months of this year, a negative balance of trade turnover of USD 91 753,2 has been observed, which is 5.5 times more in annual comparison.

Thus, in January-November of 2020, a negative balance of trade turnover of USD 16 760,4 was recorded between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
