In a major development, Polish publication Interia Sport is claiming that Barcelona have reached a contract agreement with Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski ahead of a possible summer transfer, APA reports.

The 33-year-old has been with Die Roten since the summer of 2014 and has achieved greatness with the German giants. But the legendary striker is set to enter the final twelve months of his deal with the Bavarians and is believed to be seeking a new challenge.

Barcelona have been pursuing the Poland captain’s signing as they seek to bring a new, prolific goalscorer to lead their project under Xavi Hernandez. Talks have been held with his agent, Pini Zahavi, with the Catalans receiving positive feedback from those meetings.

Now, it is being claimed that the talks have materialised into a contract agreement. The report from Interia Sport states that Lewandowski and Barcelona have agreed on a three-year multi-million deal ahead of a potential transfer later this summer.

It is also claimed that the ace goalscorer also had offers on the table from several other European giants such as Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City. However, Lewandowski has seemingly chosen to sign with Barça instead.
