President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Aleksander Čeferin said that he was not sure about the imminent return of Russian clubs to European competition, APA reports Lost Sport.

“We all underestimated the situation in the previous months. When it all started, we thought it would last a couple of weeks. So now it’s hard to guess what will happen. Nothing can be said yet. I’m not sure that Russian clubs will be able to play again soon (in European competitions ), but we will do our best so that Ukrainian clubs can compete,” Ceferin was quoted as saying by Sky Sport Italia.

“I have already said several times that I am very sorry for all Ukrainian and Russian athletes, because, especially for Russian football players, they have become collateral victims of this conflict,” Čeferin added.
