Belgian football club Anderlecht signed French midfielder Samir Nasri, the club said on Friday, ONA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.

"He's in! Welcome Samir Nasri," Anderlecht said in a Twitter post to confirm Nasri's arrival to the Brussels club.

"The Little Prince arrived to the park! Today former French international Samir Nasri signed a contract for one season with an option to extend it for another year at RSC Anderlecht," the club said on their website.

Nasri, 32, was a free agent as he was previously playing for English team West Ham United.

Anderlecht said that in the Brussels club, Nasri will join his former teammate from Manchester City, Vincent Kompany.

"I absolutely want to help Vincent and the club to achieve their targets," Nasri said.

"Vincent Kompany was my teammate at Manchester City between 2011 and 2017. I know him very well... With Vincent and the whole team, I will make all necessary effort so that this project will be successful," Nasri added.

Nasri previously played for Olympique Marseille, Arsenal, Manchester City, Spanish club Sevilla, Turkey's Antalyaspor and West Ham United.

Former French international Nasri had six appearances for West Ham last season but he couldn't score any goal for the Hammers.
