Ghana ranks 52nd on FIFA World Ranking

On Monday, October 30, FIFA released the newest World Ranking. Ghana stays in the same spot as in September 2017.

Now the Black Stars still has been occupying the 52nd position, though the Ghana national team has increased in total points from 646 to 651. Presently, Ghana can be found between Hungary (53 points) and Venezuela (51 points).

In Africa’s TOP-10, Ghana team takes the 8th place, above Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso. The other African countries are placed in the following way:

Tunisia (28)

Egypt (30)

Senegal (32)

DR Congo (35)

Nigeria (41)

Cameroon (42)

Morocco (48).

On the worldwide level, no changes have happened. The World`s TOP looks like the following:

Brazil

Portugal

Argentina

Belgium

Poland

France

Spain

Chile

Peru

Since the ranking’s beginning in August 1993, Ghana’s highest performance had been remaining a 14 place in February 2008. The worst year for the Black Stars was in June 2004, when they occupied the 89th position.

In their previous games in World Cup qualifying, on October 7, the Black Stars settled for a goalless draw with Uganda. Before that, they defeated Saudi Arabia team 3-0.

On November 12, Kwesi Appiah’s charges will host Egypt during the final matchday of World Cup qualifying.

In October 2016, the Black Stars occupied the 45th place on FIFA World Ranking. The ranking will be updated on November 23.
