248 Azerbaijani children in prisons and orphanages in Iraq brought to Azerbaijan

An evacuation process launched in 2017 on the instruction of the head of state in the direction of repatriation of the Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq to our country has been also continued in 2020, according to the report of the Cabinet of Ministers for 2020, APA reports.

“As a result of sustainable work with the Government if Irag in this direction, from 2018 till the end of the reporting period, in total, 248 minor children who are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan (194 minors in 2020 alone) have been repatriated from Iraqi prisons, orphanages and handed over to their relatives in our country following the relevant rehabilitation” noted in the report.
