We hope that the new US administration will cooperate more actively with the South Caucasus region, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan during a virtual discussion of the Atlantic Council, a leading US think tank.
Hajiyev said that the United States can contribute to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He said that the United States had rich experience and initiatives in the post-conflict period and could contribute to this in the South Caucasus.
Hajiyev stressed that the United States, as a country and as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, can play an active role in peacebuilding, post-conflict reconstruction and reconstruction.
Noting that "smart" green cities will be built in the liberated areas, Hajiyev added that there are wide opportunities for the US private sector in this process.
