Aventura Mayor of Florida state Enid Weisman has issued a statement on behalf of himself and Aventura City Commission regarding the celebration of February 26, 2021 as the “commemoration day of the Khojaly tragedy”, State Committee on Work with Diaspora told APA.
It is noted in the statement that the night of February 25-26, 1992, more than 600 innocent people of Khojaly city of Azerbaijan, including women, children and old people subjected to massacre. International human rights organizations, Human Rights Watch called this tragedy as the biggest massacre of the region.
