Azerbaijan, WHO sign agreement on financial contribution

On March 13, "a contribution agreement between Republic of Azerbaijan and the World Health Organization (WHO)" has been signed at headquarters of the WHO in Geneva, APA reports.
The mentioned contribution agreement has been signed on the basis of the decision of the government of Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 6, 2020 on voluntarily allocation of financial contribution to the WHO in order to contribute to efforts of the international unity aimed at prevention of the risk of spread of the coronavirus epidemics.
The contribution agreement, signed by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Vagif Sadigov and Director General of the WHO Tedros Ghebreyesus, considers allocation of voluntarily financial contribution of USD 5 mln. by Governmet of Republic of Azerbaijan to the "COVID-19 response" Fund of the WHO in the framework of the "Strategic readiness and Response Plan".
