"Azerbaijan has been and continues to be an active supporter of broad international cooperation in the fight against the pandemic. Several international events have been held on our initiative. Among them is the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States on pandemic control in April this year," said Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan at meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, APA reports.

Mr. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan has also actively participated in the program of financial and humanitarian assistance to a number of countries and international organizations: "We have voluntarily donated $ 10 million to the World Health Organization. We have been in constant contact with this organization since the first day of the pandemic, and Azerbaijan has provided financial and humanitarian assistance to more than 30 countries. Thus, by leading the Non-Aligned Movement, the second largest international organization after the United Nations, Azerbaijan makes a significant contribution to the fight against the pandemic on a global scale."
