"Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev officially said regarding the incident in Dagestan,” said Leyla Abdullayeva, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan at a briefing organized by the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers today while commenting on the incident took place in Dagestan, APA reports.
L. Abdullayeva noted that works are underway regarding the return of citizens to country: ” Today a telephone conversation was held between Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents. The gathering of Azerbaijani citizens on the border between the two countries was also discussed. Azerbaijan is implementing the agreements reached at various levels in stages
Over the past month, nearly our 1000 citizens have been returned back from Russia. Returning of our citizens in Russia are being carried out via “Evə gedirəm” portal by air and land. At initial stages, preference is given to patients, the elderly and those with children. At the same time, our citizens are being returned back in accordance with the sequence on the portal. Unfortunately, recently it has been observed that our citizens with or without registrations gather on the board. Approaching the border, our citizens endanger the health of themselves and their relatives. Return of our citizens from Russia is provided over the registration of citizens on the portal and priority categories. Citizens should wait where they stay. Approaching the border should not mean passing it quickly."
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that 130 citizens on June 9 and 155 citizens in June 16 were brought by land, and on June 17, 152 citizens were brought to the country by air: “We ask our citizens to obey the rules of the country where they live and be patient.”
