Azerbaijani deputy FM: “Armenia is not independent”

“The statement voiced by Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Egypt should be considered a provocative statement,” said deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov at the webinar entitled as “Regional geopolitical polarizations and Turkey-Azerbaijan relations” held today by joint organizational support of the Center for Analysis of International Relations and the Center for Strategic Researches of Turkey’s MFA, APA reports.

Deputy Minister noted that such statements are a logical continuation of Armenia's aggressive policy against the whole region, especially Turkey: “Armenia calumniate Azerbaijan and Turkey at every opportunity. The speech by Armenian FM is the next calumny. Armenia intends to conceal its aggressive policy with such steps.”

Deputy minister Khalafov said Armenia, as the aggressor country occupied the Azerbaijani lands and every time when taking substantive steps in peace negotiations, is required, this country commits provocations and attacks, disrupts favorable condition for peace: "Armenia’s policy is the aggressive policy based on territorial claims against neighbors. They put forward territorial claims against Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan".

Khalaf Khalafov said the countries that listen to such statements of Armenia’s officials know well that this is the aggressor country. He noted that today, Azerbaijan has high prestige in foreign policy on the international arena: "Armenia is not independent, and it is a tool for the implementation of interests and foreign policy of other third countries. Armenia makes such statements in order to fulfill the tasks assigned to it and the obligations imposed on it.

"Azerbaijan will liberate its lands. We will not allow for the establishment of the second Armenian state on the Azerbaijani lands and annexation of even one inch of our land. This is just an illusion of Armenia, they just set illusive priorities".
The deputy minister noted that today, Azerbaijan has strengthened its military security policy, has developed its defense capability, and will achieve the logical result of all these processes.
