Deputy minister: “US police could not protect Consulate General and Azerbaijanis during Armenians’ attack”

“After the defeat of Armenia on the military field, provocations are being conducted against our compatriots in Washington, Toronto, Stockholm, Los Angeles, Brussels, and other cities,” said Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov in a press conference held today, APA reports.

According to Deputy FM, Armenia started to take such disgusting steps to distract the attention of the world community after having a bankrupt policy in the negotiation process: “Patriotic citizens from Azerbaijani side attend the clashes and protest Armenian policy. Armenian radical groups without hesitating of any radicalism, engaged in attacking Azerbaijan’s diplomatic missions, Azerbaijanis only because of their ethnicity.”

Deputy Minister noted that these actions of Armenia will also be in vain: “These foreign countries will never allow provocations on the basis of racial discrimination in their country. Armenia should know that the power of Azerbaijan comes from its unity. The state of Azerbaijan is by the side of its patriotic compatriots everywhere. These attacks organized by Armenia do not yield a result. Because Azerbaijan has integrated into the international community. Bilateral relations at a high level with countries have been established. Armenia’s provocations will not be allowed. I currently was meeting with the ambassador of the US, the topic was the attacks of Armenians to Azerbaijanis in Los Angels. Unfortunately, the US police were not able to protect the Consulate General and Azerbaijanis. The ambassador noted that US police conduct an investigation and this provocation will be given a legal assessment. We are holding meetings with other embassies too.

The state of Azerbaijan is by the side of each of our compatriots. We should not allow Armenia to put pressure on our diplomatic missions abroad and our compatriots. Today Azerbaijani Army is able to liberate our lands from occupation. The state of Azerbaijan is ready to support our citizens regardless of where they live.”
