Election Observation Mission of OSCE ODIHR starts its activity

Observation Mission of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR ) starts its activity from today, head of the Observation Mission Peter Tejler said at press conference held today, APA reports.

He noted it is just for fifth times that he leads Election Observation Mission.

“After the decision to hold early parliamentary elections, the Azerbaijani side officially appealed to us for observation. The Needs Evaluation Mission visited Azerbaijan in December 2019 and evaluated the pre-election environment and the process of preparation for the forthcoming elections. According to results of this visit, it was decided to involve into relevant activities the observation mission consisting of main staff, and short- and long-term observers”, he said.
