Embassy appealed to Georgia’s citizens temporarily stranded in Azerbaijan

In recent days, the extraordinary situation developed at Red Bridge border crossing point of Azerbaijan-Georgia state border. Especially, the Georgian citizens temporarily stranded in the Republic of Azerbaijan evading the existing rules, without establishing coordination and reconciliation with Georgia’s embassy, are trying to disorderly return to their Motherland, Georgia’s embassy to Azerbaijan told APA.

The mentioned attempts have caused difficult problems in terms of both logistics and epidemiological security.

“Taking into consideration the existing difficult situation, and appealing once again to Georgia’s citizens temporarily stranded in the Republic of Azerbaijan, we call upon them to strictly comply with the quarantine rules that are in force in the Republic of Azerbaijan and to preliminarily pass registration in the Embassy for returning to Motherland.

During the process of fight against COVID-19 virus, in the condition of closure of border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia, the return of the Georgian citizens temporarily stranded on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be implemented in a phased manner but by preliminarily passing registration in the Embassy.

Taking into consideration the above-mentioned, and appealing once again to Georgia’s citizens temporarily stranded on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we call on them to preliminarily pass registration in the Embassy in order to continue the process of their return in the organized, secure and phased manner.
