Embassy calls on Azerbaijanis living in Germany not to succumb to Armenian provocations
- 01 August 2020
The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Germany has disseminated a press release condemning Armenia's attacks on Azerbaijani territories and provocations abroad, APA reports.
According to the press release, on July 12, 2020, Armenian Armed Forces attacked Azerbaijani positions by firing artillery towards the Tovuz border district located in the north-west of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that shelling of Azerbaijani military positions and settlements and military operations aimed at occupying positions in Azerbaijani territories by Armenia are open military aggression against a sovereign state and a gross violation of the norms and principles of international law.
Armenia also committed war crimes with armed attacks on civilians in the border villages of Azerbaijan's Tovuz region and violated its obligations under the 1949 Geneva Convention.
“From our side, as it was noted on the appeal by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, we call on all Azerbaijanis living in Germany to behave rationally, not to succumb to provocations and to continue the struggle for justice only within the framework of the law,” the press release of the Embassy said.
