“A certain part of the Azerbaijani citizens having arrived in Turkey for a temporary stay and currently can’t return to their Motherland, as well as our students with limited material resources who receive education in Turkey at their own expense have faced some problems of household and administrative nature due to the quarantine measures and the movement restriction implemented in this country amid coronavirus infection (COVID-19) widely spread in many countries of the world including Turkey”, Azerbaijan’s Embassy to Turkey told APA’s local bureau.

The report says taking into consideration the suspension of air and ground transportations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the present pandemic condition, based on the task assigned by the country’s leaders, in order to provide support to our citizens related to the above-mentioned category during this period the opportunity has been created for them to apply to Azerbaijan’s Embassy to Turkey beginning from 01.04.2020: “A part of over 16,000 appeals in this regard received by the Embassy so far has been reviewed by the Embassy and the aid has been provided in regard to provision with food and living expenses by the support of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic to about 6,000 our citizens related to this category. Currently, the remaining and the newly received appeals are also being reviewed, and it has been envisaged to provide support to our citizens in need related to this category as far as the existing situation continues. At the same time, we ask our citizens whose requests haven’t been responded yet to be a bit understanding and restrained.

As the head of the state noted, in this difficult condition, all of us should demonstrate national unity, solidarity and responsibility”.

The Azerbaijani citizens of the same category have been asked in the embassy’s message not to apply repeatedly, and it was noted that the repeated appeals cause extra loss of time: “Such appeals are also reviewed and the responding to such appeals requires extra time. It is worth mentioning that during the review of the appeals, the cases of appeal to this campaign by our citizens not related to the above-mentioned category (for instance, our citizens living in the Turkish Republic on a permanent basis, our citizens not currently being on the territory of the Turkish Republic, etc.) are also observed which causes extra loss of time that could be spent on responding to the substantial appeals.

Taking this into consideration we would like to remind once again that this organized assistance campaign has been envisaged for the citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic having arrived in the Turkish Republic for a temporary stay and currently can’t return to their Motherland due to the pandemic, and especially our students with limited material resources who receive education in Turkey at their own expense, who need food and living expenses”.
