"The relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are truly fraternal relations,” said Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral at the APAralel program broadcasted at APA TV.

“Strategic partnership is not enough to characterize our relationship. Our relations are above all this. There are many countries in Turkey's strategic partnership. However, we do not have such kind of relations with any of these countries like fraternal relations with Azerbaijan. Our relations are very deep. The root of Turkish-Azerbaijani relations are not based on common profits. The roots of the relation are in the heart of each Azerbaijani and Turkish citizen.

The bonds that tie us each other have not emerged today. Both during the Soviet era and during the cold war, we had feelings of brotherhood for each other. As a result of this, the Caucasus Islamic Army came to Azerbaijan in 1918. While the Caucasus Islamic Army was in Azerbaijan, Ottomans withdrew from all fronts in the First World War and covered a period of life or death war. Nevertheless, under such conditions, we did not hesitate to send troops to Azerbaijan,” Ambassador noted.

Turkish diplomat noted that over time, relations between the two brotherly countries have deepened: “Such relations do not exist in other parts of the world. It does only between Turkey and Azerbaijan.”
