"The strategic facilities are guarantee for the region’s security, therefore everybody should be interested in their normal operation", said Georgia’s minister of foreign affairs David Zalkaliani while expressing his attitude in regard to the statement disseminated by General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan related to the attempt of the Armenian armed units to inflict blow on Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, APA’s local bureau reports.

The minister noted that it is very important that such strategic facilities are not put under military danger: “It is important that Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline is not exposed to any military impact, this is a facility bearing both regional and extra-regional strategic significance. The strategic facilities are the guarantee of the region’s security. Therefore everybody should be interested in creating danger for their normal operation. Of course, the projects of strategic significance in the Southern Caucasus are the greatest sphere of our interest and we continuously conduct monitoring activities in this area. We are holding talks in this regard with our partner countries in the region, especially the countries through territory of which these projects are passing, as well as our strategic partners, the US and the European Union”.
