“I express my gratitude to Elmar Mammadyarov and Movlud Cavushoglu. This format is crucial for our strong political dialogue. These two countries are the main trade partners of Georgia,” Georgian FM David Zalkaliani said at the press conference following the 8th trilateral meeting of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia’s heads of MFA, held in Tbilisi.

He stated that the new plan envisaging cooperation on energy, transport, and different fields and covering 2020-2022 years has been signed.

This will give an impetus to the development of specific cooperation relations in various areas. I would like to reiterate the significance of the projects which are being jointly implemented by us. We would like to stress once again that we continue to provide strong support to full implementation of the trilateral energy corridor. We have also given consideration to the development of the Europe-Asia transport corridor. In terms of the creation of attractive opportunities, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line has great significance. The conflicts existing in the region pose risks to peace and security, territorial integrity and its defense is important and from this point of view, our cooperation is significant”, he added.
