“20 % of our territories were occupied as a result of the aggression of neighbor Armenia against Azerbaijan,” said Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration at the international conference entitled “Internally displaced women call for justice: Meeting their needs on the issues of peace and security” held jointly by International Relations Analysis Center with the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno Garabagh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UN Delegation in Azerbaijan.
H. Hajiyev noted that this conference coincides with the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide: “Khojaly genocide is a crime against mankind. The occupation is condemned in the four resolutions of the UN Security Council, Azerbaijan’s internationally recognized territorial integrity is reaffirmed. These resolutions also reflect humanitarian aspects that Azerbaijan faces. The withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the territories of Azerbaijan is required in the resolutions. UN Security Council resolutions regarding the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation remain in force until they are implemented.”
Hikmat Hajiyev noted that the active role of women in the solution of Nagorno Garabagh conflict is considered essential: “Woman members of the Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Garabagh play an important role in delivering Azerbaijan’s rightful voice to the world. Azerbaijan is in favor of the solution of the conflict in accordance with international law within the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
