Hikmet Babaoghlu: "Armenians’ claims against Azerbaijan will be rejected in other international organizations as well"

“Azerbaijan will achieve without fail its ultimate goal – the restoration of its territorial integrity”, said Hikmet Babaoghlu, deputy chairman of Defense, security and corruption combating committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament in his statement to APA.

He said the Armenians have raised a claim at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in regard to the Ramil Safarov case and have demanded to take measures regarding re-initiation of the criminal case, as well as termination of the pardon decree signed by the President of Azerbaijan and also have attempted to accuse the Azerbaijani government in release from jail of Ramil Safarov: “Undoubtedly, they couldn’t achieve their aforementioned goals. The ECHR didn’t adopt decision regarding either re-initiation of the criminal case or taking any measure. In fact, this means another defeat of the Armenians in front of the European law.

The last case opened by Armenians was entitled as “Makutyan and Minasyan against Azerbaijan and Hungary”. Of course, the occupant country doesn’t have any spiritual and legal right to accuse of anything an officer of the country 20 percent of territories of whom have been occupied by that occupant country and moreover, to justify its demand referring to a decision of the ECHR. Undoubtedly, Azerbaijan considers correct the decision adopted by the ECHR because none of the demands of Armenians have been satisfied in that decision. It should be especially mentioned that not only the Armenians from Armenia, but also the Armenian lobby and the Armenophile centers exerted pressure on the ECHR, and tried to distract the ECHR by various methods from adoption of that legal decision, but they couldn’t achieve this”.
