“Armenia, mobilizing Armenian Diaspora (“We are our borders – All for Artsakh” donation campaign, Armenia Fund, Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian Canadian Medical Association of Ontario, Fund for Armenian Relief, Tufenkian Foundation, Armenian Relief Society, etc.) acting in foreign countries, attracts financial resources to its army, under cover of non-governmental and charity organizations in order to compensate its great losses at the battlefield”, said Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, APA reports.

According to him financial resources, obtained with the line of the non-governmental and charity organizations, controlled by the Armenian Diaspora, are directed to the financing Armenian army acting in the occupied Azerbaijani territories and so, contribute to the next attacks by Armenia on Azerbaijan’s civilians: “Texting among Armenians on social media and networks in this regard prove it. It is not the first time that Armenian Diaspora abroad uses received funds for illegal activity and strengthening the occupation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, as well as purchasing weapons and ammunition for the occupier army by abusing non-governmental organizations and charity organizations. In the last 30 years, Armenian Diaspora carried out active work in this field and deceived taxpayers of the relevant foreign states. At this time illegal funds had been transferred to the so-called regime established in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, without any control mechanism, which means the financing of terrorism. According to the International Convention dated 1999 on the fight against financing terrorism, as well as provisions of the resolutions number 1373 (2001), 2178 (2014), 2195 (2014) and 2347 (2017) of the UN Security Council, activities of non-profit organizations in the above areas, are assessed as financing of terrorism and the states should take preventive measures to prevent such cases. In this regard, Azerbaijan calls on the UN member states to prevent the use of their territories to finance Armenian terrorism directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.”
