Within the framework of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship over Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), International Non-Aligned Movement Model Simulation Training in a virtual format is being held on March 2-5, 2021, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan told APA.
Hundreds of young people from NAM member states applied to participate in this event, which will be held for the first time in the history of NAM, and as a result of a competitive selection process, 60 young people representing 39 NAM members states have been eligible to participate.
The participants will prepare recommendations for Non-Aligned Movement member states of the post-COVID-19 pandemic, playing the roles of senior officials from NAM member states.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Jayathma Wickramanayake have delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the event.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Non-Aligned Movement, Jeyhun Bayramov informed participants on the initiatives, put forward by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the fight against COVID-19 as NAM Chair.
