Iranian official: Restoring Khudaferin checkpoint is important for participation in restoration of territories liberated from the occupation

“The reopening of Khudafarin customs is important in terms of facilitating travel to Azerbaijan to participate in the reconstruction of its liberated territories,” said Deputy Governor of East Azarbaijan for Economic Affairs Coordination Ali Jahangiri, APA’s bureau in Tehran reports.
Ali Jahangiri, delivering a speech at the meeting of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission, noted that as Tabriz close to the territory of Azerbaijan, the reopening of the customs will play a very important and decisive role in the transportation of goods, equipment and machinery needed by Iranian companies that will participate in the reconstruction of Karabakh: “In this regard, Economic and Financial Department of East Azerbaijan Province should conduct the necessary correspondence with appropriate ministries and other competent authorities”.
Ali Jahangiri, who noted that the establishment of customs checkpoints depends on the government's decision, has said that the application of East Azerbaijan signed by the head of the province, as well as an appeal to Azerbaijani officials to create the necessary conditions for the opening of the customs office on the other side of the Araz River are also on the agenda of the provincial administration.
