Iranian vice-president: “Efforts are made for further strengthening and deepening of relations with Azerbaijan”

“The Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the neighbor countries having the most desirable relations with Iran”, said the Iranian vice-president and head of Planning and Budget Organization Mohammad Bagher Nobakht during his visit to Ardabil in his statement to journalists, APA reports citing the Iranian press.

He said efforts are made for further strengthening and deepening of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan.

“Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan being the two friendly and brotherly countries have always stood side by side for developing their political, economic and cultural relations and currently the joint steps are taken for strengthening of these relations. We hope that we will see fruits of these efforts. Such joint near-border projects as the creation of an industrial township in Ardabil province neighboring with the Republic of Azerbaijan, connection of railway lines, as well as construction of cargo terminal are continued. We hope that by operating them we will assist in strengthening of these relations. The construction of these joint projects is a part of the government’s obligation to strengthen relations with neighbor countries. We hope that in the upcoming years, these relations will cause further flourishing of both countries”, the Iranian vice-president noted.
