The Day of Solidarity with Kashmir was marked in Baku, APA reports.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Saeed Khan Mohmand speaking at the event said the situation in Kashmir is grave.

He said in February of the last year India’s Air Forces violated Pakistan’s air borders and threatened Pakistan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty: “We are a peaceful country. We hope that we will be able to bring peace to the region. This is in the best interest of both nations. On August 5 India terminated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. During the recent 6 months, Kashmir has been under pressure, the people are suffering. The schools and hospitals are closed. The state’s main source of income is tourism. The recent incidents seriously impacted tourism. This is an economic genocide. The Indian government also conducts the policy aimed at changing the demographic indicators of Kashmir. Thousands of Kashmirians have been killed”.

The diplomat stressed that all international organizations openly criticize this policy of the Indian government: “I am grateful to the Azerbaijani government and the Azerbaijani people for their support. The Azerbaijani people should know what is happening in Kashmir. The UN Security Council has adopted 4 resolutions regarding Nagorno Garabagh and 11 resolutions regarding Kashmir, and these resolutions haven’t been implemented”.

The event was finalized with other speeches.
