New ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan Abbas Mousavi disclosed main priorities of his activity in Baku

“Iran’s economic relations with friendly countries don’t keep up with its political relations”, said the spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the newly appointed ambassador of that country to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi at the meeting with the head of the Eastern Azerbaijan province, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
He stated that he will focus on the development of trade and economic relations during his tenure as ambassador to Azerbaijan.
According to A. Musavi, border provinces of Iran plays an important and fundamental role in the development of relations with Azerbaijan: “However, we should try to use the potential of the province to improve the trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan.”
He stated that the main work of the Iranian Embassy will be to develop the economic relations: “As Azerbaijan has access to the Russian and European markets, our relations will be more directed to expanding the economic area. The share of economic relations in the development program of relations between the two countries is eighty percent. We will use all the potential to develop relations between the two countries."
