PACE president: "We call on parties to abstain from actions causing tension that could deepen conflict"

The president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Rik Daems has sent a response letter to the appeal of the chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova regarding implementation of provocation by Armenia on the site of Tovuz region of the state border with Azerbaijan, the Press and public relations department of the Azerbaijani Parliament told APA.

The PACE president said this issue has been delivered to the attention of relevant PACE committees. He said he believes that the committees are closely tracking the existing situation.

It is stated in the letter addressed by the PACE president Rik Daems to the chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova that the PACE calls on the conflict parties to abstain from the actions causing tension that could deepen the conflict.
