“Pakistan wishes solution of Jammu and Kashmir issue in the framework of peace and the UN resolutions”, said Pakistan’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee during his speech at the event entitled as “Black day of Kashmir” commemorated in Baku, APA reports.

He said solution of Jammu problem in the framework of peace and the international law is very important for stability and development of the region.

Pakistan’s ambassador touching on violation of rights of Kashmirians, their exposure to repressions noted that this is the violation of the international humanitarian law, human rights: “The Indian government tries to change demographic structure in Jammu and Kashmir region. Because the majority of people living in this region are Moslems, they want to unite with Pakistan. The Indian government attempts to prevent this wish by making a demographic change”.

The Pakistani diplomat bringing to the notice that currently, the world suffers from lockdown and restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic stressed that the Kashmirians have already suffering from such problems for many years, they live in blockade: “People there are not allowed to use their legitimate rights”.

B. Hayee also noted that the UN Human Rights Commission has many times prepared reports regarding the situation in Kashmir: “It was noted in those reports that the military and police operations against civilian population are continued. It is important that the international community stands by Kashmir people. Pakistan will continue its diplomatic and spiritual support to Kashmir until solution of this problem”.
