“A new reality appeared at the end of 2020, the Southern Gas Corridor was commissioned,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto after meeting with Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov today, APA reports.
P. Szijjarto said that Hungary will join the Southern Gas Corridor at the end of this year: “Gas pipelines of Hungary will combine with Serbian gas pipelines. Hungary’s purchase of gas from the Southern Gas Corridor is significant. Azerbaijan may also increase gas production. As a result of this, we will purchase a significant amount of Azerbaijani gas in 2023-2024. Negotiations have even been started with the SOCAR in order to construct necessary pipelines.”
