President Ilham Aliyev: “Turkey plays a very positive role in our region and it is very important for stability of the region”

“Turkey demonstrated a very positive position from the first days of the war – a position directed to peace, stability. Turkey also provided its support to Azerbaijan’s righteous work in the first days. My dear brother, respectful President Erdogan issued very determined statements from the first days. Political and moral support, given us with statements of other authoritative persons – Minister of National Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Speaker of TGNA, and other ministers, also strengthened us a lot. At the same time, it was a very serious message for many people,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the press conference held in a video format for local and foreign journalists, APA reports.

Head of state noted that Turkey demonstrates a very positive position after the war too: “Turkish authoritative persons issued statements on the situation in Armenia yesterday. Today Turkish side is also aware of the meetings among Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers. Because these meetings have importance for the whole region. Both Turkey and Iran, and if there will be such a willingness in the future, Georgia can join the general platform. Today Turkey plays a very positive role in all regions, as well as in our region as a power center in the world, and it is very important for the stability of the region.”
